This will be the ultimate mash up and I can’t wait! The announcement on March 2nd that Realogy (NYSE:H), which include the brands Century 21, Coldwell Banker, and ERA has teamed up with Google to provide 500,000 plus real estate listings to Google is the beginning of something HUGE. Its only a matter of time before Real Estate classifieds at newspapers fade away.
…unless the newspapers actually find a way to give the users value. I find most of the user interfaces for newspaper classifieds to be annoying at best, cumbersome, hard to use, too many click kinds of web sites. Google will blow them all away.
What will be the next classified model? We now know where the data will be indexed but how can we monitize this??? My thinking cap is on.
